The mission of Baltimore Health Coach is to support inspired, purposeful people (“Difference Makers”) to create the high energy, vibrant health, and peace of mind necessary to make a major positive impact in the world, and to enjoy their lives more than ever. Through individualized nutrition and lifestyle programs clients establish a powerful daily and weekly rhythm with self-care that fuels the creation of an increasingly extraordinary life.

How did I become the Baltimore Health Coach?

I discovered my passion for healthy living as I finished up my undergraduate studies at Eckerd College.   At the time, I was very angry about the injustices I saw in the world, but unsure of how I could do anything much about it.   I was highly critical of myself and everyone around me. I was unfulfilled in my relationships with family and friends, and my “romantic” relationships never lasted more than a few months.  I stayed up late nights stressing.  Low level anxiety and frustration was the norm.  At times, I was quite depressed.

I thought it was just my bad genes, but I was suffering from fatigue, chronic digestive disruption, allergies and colds, frequent sports injuries, and skin infections.   That’s when both my father and brother experienced major health scares.   I felt powerless to help them and it seemed like the drugs doctor were prescribing were causing more harm than good.

I started reading books about healing.

I was shocked to find out:

– Most dis-ease has much more to do with lifestyle than genes.
– Food profoundly affects our health.
– The body is highly intelligent and will heal itself given half a chance.
– We are designed to experience high energy, vibrant health and peace of mind.

Wow!  I was not well at all- far from it. I also realized that the back surgery that ended my sports career was completely unnecessary.  I felt like I had been cheated out of a healthy and energized childhood and adolescence. I was pissed!  And I was hopeful that I could create a new experience of health and vitality.  And- I saw that so many people could benefit from what I was learning- I had an inspiring new career direction!

I was determined to learn all I could about nutrition and healing and to heal myself.  After several disappointing years of struggling to maintain deprivation diets that seemingly made me feel worse, I found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

Through the very process I facilitate for my clients, at IIN, I discovered my most energizing and healthful way of eating, and living.  I learned it will always be evolving, and how to keep up with it.  I discovered that my health and energy had as much to do with my thoughts and emotions as what I had eaten all my life; and that what I had eaten all my life had more to do with my thoughts and emotions than I ever could have imagined.

The more I learn about the interconnectedness of it all, and how much power we have as individuals to transform our health, the more inspired I get.

My life is completely transformed from 7 years ago. As I write this, I am in a beach coffee shop in Costa Rica. I have taken the month off to surf and write. I am in a supportive, loving, juicy romantic relationship with a fabulous woman.  Most days I have bountiful energy and vibrant health. Even more fantastic is that the majority of my moments are peaceful and happy, despite all the work there is to do.

As the Baltimore Health Coach, my work feeds me tremendously. I make a major difference in the world: coaching highly intelligent and committed people to step into their power, reach their full potential, and make their biggest impact.

We harness incredible power when we align our thoughts and actions, including what we eat, with our bodies’ truth and our heart’s deepest desires. Quality of life, not perfectionism, is the focus. Good health and happiness are the foundations of life. With added clarity of purpose, knowledge, and major support, I believe anything is possible.
